Harris gets harassed into throwing 4 interceptions

Pressuring UM's Jacory Harris was a top priority. `We tried to mix things up on him sk,1.7 and disguise coverages,' OSUsk,0 linebacker Ross Homan said.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- As No. 2 Ohio State spent the week preparing for No. 12 Miami, the defense abided by one motto: as Jacory Harris goes, so go the Hurricanes.

It was no surprise, then, that Harris' four interceptions helped seal the victory for the Buckeyes. Senior linebacker Ross Homan said the goal entering the game was to get pressure on Harris to force him into making mistakes.

``I think it was our schemes,'' he said. ``We tried to mix things up on him and disguise coverages. We tried to force him into bad decisions and capitalize off of those opportunities.''

The junior quarterback twice was victimized by OSU senior cornerback Chimdi Chekwa, but the biggest turnover came with the Hurricanes deep in enemy territory. Having led his team to the OSU 9-yard line on the first drive of the second half, Harris was picked off by Buckeyes senior defensive lineman Cameron Heyward, who had dropped into coverage.

The 6-5, 288-pound lineman rumbled 80 yards before running out of gas and being brought down. When a reporter asked Heyward about his ``shifty moves''' on the return, the senior captain buried his face in his hands.

``I'm still tired,'' said Heyward, the son of former New Orleans Saints fullback Craig ``Ironhead'' Heyward. ``I should've passed it off right when I got it. I'm just happy I made the play.''

In all, the Buckeyes converted those four turnovers into 20 points. They were aided by the return of junior defensive end Nathan Williams, who missed the season opener against Marshall after sustaining a knee injury during fall camp. He did not record a tackle but had the first interception of the game. Despite the miscues, Homan said Harris was the talented athlete they had studied on film.

``He was everything and more,'' the linebacker said. ``He was a great, great quarterback -- one of the best we've faced. He did a great job of making plays when there wasn't plays to be made. Even getting out of the pocket, he still made plays. I think he was hurt out there but he still rushed through. For sure, he was the leader of their team and he was a great person to try to challenge us.''

Although the Buckeyes forced Harris into mistakes, he was able to mount a 60-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter. It was the first touchdown allowed by the OSU defense this season.

``We want to go the whole season without giving up a touchdown,'' senior linebacker Brian Rolle said. ``We're looking forward to the rest of the season and trying not to let anyone else score.''

Of Miami's 352 yards of total offense, 212 came on the final four drives of the game. In other words, it was not a masterful performance for the Buckeyes but it resulted in their desired outcome.

``We looked bad sometimes defensively, but we came out here and the win is everything,'' Homan said. ``Our whole motto is: `The win is everything.' ''

Will Smith's nine-year-old daughter, Willow smith, has signed a record

Will Smith's nine-year-old daughter, Willow, has signed a record deal with rapper Jay-Z's label Roc Nation.

Her first single, Whip My Hair, has already been viewed nearly a million times on YouTube since its release in the US this week.

Jay-Z told US radio host Ryan Seacrest he thought she would be a "superstar".

"I heard the record first before I knew it was recorded by a nine-year-old and I was like, 'man that record's a smash'."

The rapper, who compared Willow with a young Michael Jackson, said: "She has a child's innocence but she has a clear vision of who she is and who she wants to be."

However the rapper - who signed R&B artist Rihanna when she was a teenager - brushed aside suggestions that the nine-year-old may be too young to launch a music career.

"When you have that sort of talent, there is no such thing as too young," he said.

In a statement, Roc Nation said Willow had "an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious" adding it was "rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age".

It is not Willow's first foray into show business - she appeared in 2007's I Am Legend with her father.

She also voiced a character in animated film Madagascar 2.

Her 12-year-old brother, Jaden, starred in the remake of The Karate Kid earlier this year.

"Circus" singer Britney Spears is denying allegations that she sexually harassed

"Circus" singer Britney Spears is denying allegations that she sexually harassed former bodyguard Fernando Flores and says an investigation regarding allegations of child abuse is already closed.

"This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself," Spears said in a statement posted to her Web site Thursday after details of Flores' lawsuit were leaked Wednesday to TMZ.com.

"The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without further action."

Spears did not say when the investigation was conducted. The department doesn't release details of its inquiries.

Flores said in his lawsuit that Spears repeatedly exposed herself to him and made other unwanted sexual advances. He also said she used his belt to discipline her young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and behaved inappropriately in front of them on various occasions.

According to Flores' court filings, he began working for Spears in February but left her security detail in June. He's seeking unspecified damages and also is suing his former employer, Advanced Security Concepts Corp.

The first hearing in his case is scheduled for Jan. 25.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise celebrated

After premiering The Romantics in New York, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise  celebrated at the Gansevoort Park Avenue's Plunge Rooftop Bar & Lounge with the rest of her cast. Cruise and Holmes walked in holding hands as they headed to a private cabana at the Svedka sponsored bash. Meanwhile, Josh Duhamel made it a boys' night, hanging poolside with a group of guys.

There was scuba diving, homemade meals – and apparently, dinners out for Paris Hilton and boyfriend Cy Waits during their Hawaiian vacation. The couple stopped into Merriman's Kapalua in Maui, and dined on the outdoor deck just after sunset. The couple split a bottle of rosé, while Hilton ate garden vegetable soup and a tomato and lobster salad. According to restaurant staff, the two were very polite, friendly and happy.

bodyguard for pop star Britney Spears has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her

A former bodyguard for pop star Britney Spears has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her.

Fernando Flores has accused the singer of repeatedly parading around in the nude and having sex in front of him.

Mr Flores also claims Ms Spears caused him emotional distress by having violent quarrels with her boyfriend in front of her two children.

The singer's lawyer did not comment. A lawyer for her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, called the case "baseless".

According to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr Flores alleges that Spears made repeated, unwanted sexual advances and summoned him to her room to expose her naked body.

He also claims that he witnessed the singer punish her young sons with his belt and act inappropriately in front of them.

However Mr Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told The Associated Press that Mr Flores' accusations had been looked into before the legal action was filed and warranted no action.

He added his client took allegations of abuse or wrongdoing regarding the former couple's children seriously.

"He is satisfied that the allegations are a product of economic motives. They are as baseless as they seem," Mr Kaplan said.

Mr Flores, who worked for Ms Spears from February to July this year, also accuses his security firm employers of ignoring or mocking his complaints over the singer's alleged actions .

The CW's perky new "Hellcats"

If you ever wondered what happens to the kids in all those teen dramas like "High School Musical," the CW's perky new "Hellcats" has the answer.

They graduate, go to college and have the same dramas all over again.

Gimme a D! Gimme an E! Gimme a J! Gimme an A! Gimme a V! Gimme a U!

Veteran tween and teen fave Aly Michalka stars as Marti Perkins, who's cruising along as a hip, cool and likable prelaw student at Lancer University in Memphis until she loses her scholarship and her fragile financial world collapses.

Suddenly, Marti has only one option. She must earn a spot on Lancer's highly competitive cheerleading squad, the Hellcats, who somehow apparently hold this giant school's only remaining scholarship.

If you're buying this premise, you're exactly the viewer "Hellcats" is looking for. Despite a slight hint of "Legally Blonde," its real inspiration is those dozens of teen flicks about the plucky outcast who triumphs over the extreme cruelty of school in general and one exceedingly nasty villain in particular.

The fact "Hellcats" is set in college, rather than high school, opens things up a tiny bit. For starters, it makes the music and dance numbers look less like "Glee" with pom-poms.

It also lets the writers use more syllables and make the romances a little more grownup.

It's the same canvas, though, with the same set of well-tested plot devices.

This means keeping the primary focus on the drama between women, which is why "Hellcats" plunges right into the impact of Marti's cheerleader tryout on two other groups: her friends, who can't believe it, and the cheerleaders, who believe it even less.

The latter group includes Savannah Moore (Ashley Tisdale), one of the judges who will pick the new cheerleader. Like the others, Savannah assumes Marti cares no more about cheerleading than she cares about monster truck races and thus will quickly eliminate herself.

So imagine their surprise when it turns out that Marti used to be a gymnast, so she has the agility and the moves to become a legitimate Hellcat contender.

This still doesn't sell Alice Verdura (Heather Hemmens), whose injury created the opening on the squad, or some of the other serious cheerleaders.

Thus begins the initial chick drama, though "Hellcats" has boy characters as well, and Gail O'Grady does a nice job as Marti's unreliable mother, Wanda.

In the larger picture, "Hellcats" has the deceptively tricky mission of taking what has been a 90-minute idea in most other incarnations and stretching it into an ongoing series.

But it serves up plenty of eye candy to enhance the ride, so hey, gimme an M for Marti!

Rihanna spilled the beans on her new album

Rihanna spilled the beans on her new album, Loud, in a webchat with fans.

"I'm done recording the whole album, I made sure not to let you down with my music - you guys are always defending me, so now you've got some great songs to justify it," the Umbrella songstress revealed on the official fansite Rihanna Daily.

"I didn't want to go backward and remake Good Girl Gone Bad - I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna, and it's perfect for us," she added.

He said Sir Paul was "one of the most influential and successful songwriters and musicians of all time whose work has continuously altered both the creation and perception of music all over the world".

The former Beatle said in a statement: "President Kennedy was such an icon for us in the 60s and his presidency was so inspiring for so many people that it is a great pleasure for this kid from Liverpool to receive this honour."

Stop Emotional Eating!

Stop Emotional Eating!

An adult drama, Poor word of mouth, Box-office disaster in modern Hollywood

An adult drama with overwhelmingly negative word of mouth sounds like a surefire box-office disaster in modern Hollywood, but George Clooney defied the odds this weekend.

Despite exit polls that indicated it was the most disliked movie released so far in 2010, Clooney's "The American" opened No. 1 at the box office this weekend, collecting an estimated $16.4 million in the U.S. and Canada from Friday through the Monday holiday and $19.5 million since it opened Wednesday.

The low-budget action film "Machete" from director Robert Rodriguez opened to a strong $14 million, primarily from Latino audiences. But the Drew Barrymore-Justin Long romantic comedy "Going the Distance" barely got off the runway with a soft $8.6 million.

Though those are not particularly high grosses for opening weekends, they're right in line for Labor Day, when movies are not at the top of many people's agendas. Total ticket sales over the four days were $125 million, according to Hollywood.com, virtually even with last year.

ABC News President David Westin will leave the network's top news job

ABC News President David Westin will leave the network's top news job at end of the year, he told colleagues Monday night in an email.

Westin, who has been on the job for 13 years, is leaving after the division eliminated 300 positions in an attempt to adapt to the changing news business. He is the second top executive to leave the network in recent months. In late July, Steve McPherson, ABC's top entertainment boss, was replaced. Westin, 58, has installed new top anchors at "World News," "Good Morning America" and "This Week" in the past year.

"I don't want to give them the keys back," Obama said.

In another move aimed at stabilizing the still-shaky economy, President Barack Obama on Wednesday will introduce a new $200 billion tax cut giving businesses across the country an incentive to buy new equipment in the short term, according to a senior administration official.

The tax cut would allow businesses to write off 100 percent of new investments in plants and equipment made between now and the end of 2011, according to the senior administration official.

The new tax cut will be in addition to a $100 billion permanent extension of the business tax credit for research and development, as well as $50 billion in new infrastructure spending included in a package that the president will officially unveil Wednesday during an economic speech in Cleveland, Ohio.

The $100 billion tax credit proposal was reported by CNN on Sunday while Obama himself disclosed the infrastructure spending Monday in a fiery speech at a Labor Day event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in which he tried to draw a sharp contrast with Republican economic plans.

"I don't want to give them the keys back," Obama said. "They don't know how to drive ... They're going to pop it into reverse and have special interesting riding shotgun and we'd be right back in the ditch."

The leaks of a flurry of Obama proposals in just the last 36 hours show just how anxious White House officials are to show the president is on top of trying to rescue the still-faltering economy at a time when Democrats strategists are privately starting to panic that their majorities in both the House and Senate may now be up for grabs.

Altogether, the three new Obama proposals add up to $350 billion, which is starting to creep up to nearly half the size of the $787 billion stimulus plan the president pushed through Congress in the first 100 days of his administration.

A package of that size could call into question the insistence of top White House aides that they are not putting together a "second stimulus" package. The packaging of the proposals carries great political weight because if the new plan is seen as a new stimulus program it could give Republicans new ammunition that the first plan did not work as well as advertised.

Nevertheless, all three proposals face an uncertain fate in a Congress that is still out of session for its August recess and when it comes back to work next week will only be in session for a few weeks before the election.

In addition to the compressed calendar, the president has to contend with Republicans who are itching to deny him a last-minute victory, and Democrats who are racing to get home again to campaign full-time.
